Chef Joe Thottungal is gearing up to embark on the 7th edition of the renowned culinary journey, which is going to commence on February 25, 2025, from Cochin, Kerala.
Due to an overwhelming demand, the 2025 edition of the 18-day immersive journey promises a unique twist. In addition to savoring the delectable flavors of Kerala, participants will also indulge in the culinary delights of the enchanting island of Sri Lanka. Renowned for its distinctive style and taste, Ceylonese food showcases the richness of Sri Lankan spices, is world renowned also for its Kandy tea and tea estate.With almost half the time in Sri Lanka, we’ll also explore three of it’s eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites not to mention its culinary delights, culture and people.
Chef Joe Thottungal, an ambassador of his birthplace, Kerala, has introduced numerous travelers to its wonders. Participants in the 2025 trip will immerse themselves in the Kerala experience, including home and family visits, cultural shows like the famous Kathakali dance, serene backwaters, houseboat experiences, visits to spice and tea estates, encounters with wildlife, exploration of rubber and coconut plantations and many more. Noteworthy activities also include lessons in the art of bargaining at local produce bazaars, mastering the art of eating with fingers, and engaging in hands-on cooking sessions. Chef Joe’s popularity is well known in Ottawa, Canada, where he manages two acclaimed spice restaurants, the Coconut Lagoon and Thali.
